It has been recently revealed in a research that a prospective vaccine

forsafe guarding people from meningitis might actually be able to save hundreds of lives in the long run. For now, there is a vaccine present for the meningitis c strain, but there is still need for a vaccine to be created formeningitis B. The same tends to cause infection as many as 100 people each year and the fatality rate in the same are high as well. Researchers have been able to produce meningitis B vaccine for toddlers, teens as well as adults and the same is believed to be highly secure and

efficient as well. The name of the vaccine is 4cMenB and it has been developed by Novartis. In the next few months, it is expected to be allowed to be traded commercially.Meningitis is a ghastly disease, and can lead to serious conseque
nces such as brain damage, limb amputations, deafness, blindness and so on. The vaccines for the other forms of the disease are working well, but this one is especially essential for safeguarding children against possible harm from the disease.
Meningitis B is currently the only form of the disease, which doesn't seem to have a proper vaccination for it in Britain. The disease is especially dangerous for children below the age of 5 years.
"Following successful implementation of routine childhood vaccination with serogroup C meningococcal conjugate vaccines, serogroup B is now the most serious cause of meningococcal disease in Europe and elsewhere, with a substantial medical burden", revealed Professor Maria Elena Santolaya, to
gether with Miguel L O'Ryan, the lead authors of the study.
